Does Robinhood have an AI trading bot? What actually exists in 2026

Short answer: not in the “buy a bot that prints money” sense. Robinhood offers two official ways for an AI agent to trade for you, and both put the agent in a separate account with your money and your responsibility. Here is what exists and how to set it up without regretting it.

What does Robinhood actually offer?

Robinhood Trading MCPRobinhood’s official connector at https://agent.robinhood.com/mcp/trading. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard plug that lets an AI app connect to an outside service. You bring your own agent: Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Grok, and others

Both trade only in a dedicated agentic (MCP) account, separate from your main brokerage account. Full details of the connector: Robinhood MCP: what an AI agent can and can’t do.

Is it a “trading bot” that makes money on its own?

No. It is an AI agent that can read your account and place orders you (or it) decide on. Nothing about it guarantees profit. Pages selling a “best free Robinhood AI bot” with promised returns are usually third-party products or ads, not Robinhood. If a site asks for your Robinhood password, API keys, or a seed phrase, walk away.

What can a connected agent do and not do?

  • Can read all your Robinhood accounts, positions, balances, and order history, plus quotes and research data.
  • Can trade stock, options, and crypto orders only in the MCP account (market, limit, stop limit, stop market).
  • Can preview an order before placing it.
  • Cannot trade in your main account, or transfer, stake, or lend crypto.
  • Cannot trade crypto in some states, including New York.

How do I try it without risking too much?

  1. Start read-only. Ask the agent for quotes, your positions, and an order preview before it places anything.
  2. Turn trade approvals on. In the MCP account, open Agent Settings, then Safety Controls, and switch Trade approvals on so the agent proposes and you place.
  3. Fund only what you can lose. The money in the MCP account is the agent’s real ceiling.
  4. Set your own daily loss cap. Robinhood’s help pages do not describe a per-day dollar cap, so write one down and stop the session when you hit it.
  5. Paper first. Run the same rules on paper before live money.
  6. Disconnect when idle. Remove the connector from your AI tool when you are not using it.

Rule pages: review before place, paper before live, cap daily loss before the session, and revoke connectors when idle.

Does Robinhood have an AI trading bot?

Not a standalone money-making bot. Robinhood offers an official Trading MCP connector so your own AI agent can trade, and built-in Robinhood Agents in its app. Both trade only in a separate agentic account, and you are responsible for the trades.

Is the Robinhood AI agent free?

Robinhood does not list a separate fee for connecting the MCP on its help pages we checked. Your AI tool may have its own subscription, and normal trading costs still apply. Check the current Robinhood pricing before you trade.

Can the agent trade my main Robinhood account?

No. Robinhood says a connected agent can read your other accounts but can only place trades in the dedicated MCP account.

Are “best Robinhood AI trading bot” sites legit?

Treat them with suspicion. Robinhood’s official routes are its MCP connector and in-app agents. Never give a third-party bot your Robinhood password, two-factor codes, or API keys.

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI app plug into an outside service, such as a brokerage, and take actions there with your permission.
