- [CS50’s Introduction to Artificial Intelligence with Python](https://cs50.harvard.edu/ai/) (Harvard). The ideas under modern AI, from search to machine learning to language models, as a seven-week course. Free through Harvard’s OpenCourseWare; needs some Python.

## Build agents

- [AI Agents Course](https://huggingface.co/learn/agents-course/unit0/introduction) (Hugging Face). A step-by-step path from what an agent is to building one with common libraries. The certificates are free too; needs basic Python.
- [AI Agents for Beginners](https://github.com/microsoft/ai-agents-for-beginners) (Microsoft, on GitHub). 18 short lessons with text, code, and videos, taken in any order. Open source; running the code samples needs an Azure account.
- [5-Day AI Agents Intensive](https://www.kaggle.com/learn-guide/5-day-agents) (Kaggle with Google). Whitepapers, podcasts, and codelabs on tools, memory, evaluation, and deployment, now self-paced. Codelabs need a Kaggle account and a Google AI Studio API key.
- [Agentic AI](https://www.deeplearning.ai/courses/agentic-ai) (DeepLearning.AI). Andrew Ng on four agent patterns (reflection, tool use, planning, and multi-agent) and breaking a business process into agent steps. Videos are free to audit; quizzes, labs, and the certificate need the paid Pro plan.

## Run them safely

- [Building effective agents](https://www.anthropic.com/engineering/building-effective-agents) (Anthropic). When you do not need an agent at all, and why simple setups with stopping conditions hold up best. Published December 2024; Anthropic notes some of the tools named have changed.
- [A practical guide to building agents](https://cdn.openai.com/business-guides-and-resources/a-practical-guide-to-building-agents.pdf) (OpenAI, PDF). A 34-page guide whose guardrails chapter shows how to layer checks and plan for when a person must step in.
- [Top 10 for LLM Applications (2025)](https://genai.owasp.org/llm-top-10/) (OWASP). Plain names for the main risks, including prompt injection, excessive agency, and runaway usage (“unbounded consumption”).
- [Building Trustworthy AI Agents (lesson 6)](https://github.com/microsoft/ai-agents-for-beginners/tree/main/06-building-trustworthy-agents) (Microsoft, on GitHub). Instruction rules, common threats, and a human approval step before an agent acts.
